Extension and Accompanying 6 Steps of Hand Washing with Soap for Children in Desa Danda Jaya Kecamatan Rantau Badauh

Abstract

Washing hands is an important thing to do in everyday life to maintain cleanliness. One of the community service groups, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Muhammadiyah University of Banjarmasin, has carried out Community Service activities in the form of education and assistance in the practice of washing hands with soap in the village of danda jaya, rantau badauh sub-district. The aim is to increase children's knowledge about washing hands with soap and can apply it at school and at home. The method used in this activity is counseling on washing hands with soap and assisting children in the practice of washing hands with soap. This received a good and positive response from children because it is very useful for children to know about washing hands with the right soap to prevent bacteria that can cause disease. In addition, the hand washing technique that is carried out is in accordance with recommendations. The conclusion is that the implementation of this community service is effective in changing children's habits and children's behavior to do proper and correct hand washing.
