Abstract

Tourism development needs to be increased in directed and integrated steps, especially regarding community empowerment patterns and infrastructure and environmental development planning. These sectors should be interconnected so that the development becomes realistic, logical, proportional, sustainable and carried out jointly (Levy & Hawkins, 2009). The enactment of the Regional Autonomy Law is a very strategic starting point to be able to optimize by developing and managing existing resources so that they can contribute to development and development and the economy. Therefore, it is necessary to pay close attention to strategic and potential sectors to be developed so that they are productive and can help support regional development. Through the development of river and swamp tracing tourism, many segments will emerge such as transportation, accommodation, and various services to SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and traders. In order for river and swamp tracing tourism developers to be maximized, efforts can be developed as river and swamp tourism routes in Hulu Sungai Utara Regency and compiling a management system that is adjusted to local wisdom. Thus the need for tourism outreach to the community is one way to overcome problems to support tourism development that empowers local communities as host of tourism for sustainability and the direction of tourism to be developed
