The Relationship of Gastritical Knowledge With Motivation to Prevent Gastritical Completion

Abstract
Gastritis is an inflammation of the gastric mucosa that can be acute or chronic. Gastritis without any relapse prevention efforts can lead to stomach cancer and even death. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between knowledge about gastritis and motivation to prevent recurrence of gastritis. This research was a quantitative research with correlational design and cross-sectional study approach. The number of samples of this study was 122 people taken using simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. Univariate analysis using frequency distribution and central tendency, and meanwhile bivariate analysis using chi square test. The result of the research showed that the average age of respondents was 33.98 years old, 55.7% female, 52.5% respondents were private sector worker, 37.7% respondents were high school graduates, 49.2% respondents had good knowledge, 50.8% respondents had high motivation and there was a significant relationship between knowledge of gastritis and motivation to prevent recurrence of gastritis (p =0,000 <0.05). It is expected to maintain and further improve knowledge and motivation and can apply prevention of gastritis relapse.
