Drug Storage Management Practices in Tanjung Berkat Ujung

Abstract

Storage is an activity of safeguarding drugs received so that they are safe (not lost), protected from physical and chemical damage and their quality is guaranteed. Drugs that have passed the expiration date can be dangerous to consume, this is due to the reduced stability of the drug which can produce toxic effects (poison). The methods used in this activity are information and demonstrations. The author found that residents often store medicines carelessly, scattered on top of cupboards and do not even have a special storage area. Sometimes people also do not know the exact expiration date of stored drugs because the drug packaging is damaged due to previous use which causes the expiration date of the drug to be damaged / lost. Activities can be carried out well and can be understood by the community. The result of this activity is that the community has a good and tidy storage area for drugs so that it is easy to find drugs, avoid the use of expired drugs and can reduce spending on drug purchases.
