Improving Reading Culture Through the Corner Library of the Sungai Tandipah Village

Abstract

In general, interest in reading and reading ability of Indonesian children is still low when compared to other developing countries. For that we need a solution that can be used to increase people's interest in reading, among others, through public facilities related to reading activities. From some of these explanations, the pioneering effort of the corner library of Sungai Tandipah Village needs to be realized immediately, with the hope that the existence of this library can improve the reading culture of the community, especially for children. The method used is to collect Donation Books and gather some children in Sungai Tandipah Village to invite them to read books together. With the activation of the library, it is hoped that it can provide enthusiasm and good understanding to children in the field of education, by carrying out reading activities in the library through a game model. This library provides a variety of books. Conclusion From the activities that have been carried out, it was found that the children were very enthusiastic about the holding of the corner library. This can be seen from the many children who attended on the first day, second day, and third day.
