Abstract

The elderly are the group most at risk of contracting Covid-19, one of the efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the elderly is to take promotive and preventive steps related to health protocols. In addition, restrictions on physical social interaction during the Covid-19 pandemic will have an impact on the mental health of the elderly. Entering old age, the elderly begin to feel lonely, feel alienated, excluded, isolated from other people, which one of the impacts of this is the reduced happiness felt by the elderly. Therefore, it is also necessary to pay attention so that the elderly remain healthy and happy during the Covid-19 pandemic so that the quality of life of the elderly is maintained. The purpose of this community service activity is to raise the spirit of the elderly to stay happy during the Covid-19 pandemic, with a total of 10 elderly people. The method of implementing this community service activity begins with assisting the elderly to gather in the village hall room, delivering information related to health protocols by distributing medical masks and gloves, playing guessing pictures, showing hobbies in singing and rhyming, storytelling and giving gifts for the elderly.  The results of this community service activity are expected to be useful in reducing loneliness conditions and supporting the physical and mental health of the elderly, as well as providing encouragement to stay active during the Covid-19 pandemic.
