Description of the level of knowledge and behavior of the community about self-medication on students in the village of Ujung Murung, sub-district of Amuntai Selatan

Abstract

Self-medication is a self-medication process, starting from the introduction of symptoms, selection, and use of drugs. Respondents for this observation were 30 students from Ujung Murung village as. Data collection was carried out by direct discussion by distributing questionnaires. This observation showed that more female students were willing to become respondents with  high school education level and the university. The description of self-medication behavior is mostly done for the treatment of fever, dizziness, cough and flu and if they do not recover after self-medication they will choose to go to the nearest health facilities such as doctor clinic, midwife, and public health center in  Ujung Murung village. The results of this observation described the level of knowledge of the people of Ujung Murung village regarding self-medication carried out using the questionnaire, the results obtained are 3.3% of the people of Ujung Murung village have a good level of knowledge about self-medication, 66.7% of the people of Ujung Murung village have a sufficient level of knowledge about self-medication, and 30.0% have a low level of knowledge about self-medication.
