Health Promotion of Cough and Sneeze Etiquette by Using Banner Media

Abstract

Corona virus is an RNA virus that has a particle size of 120nm-160nm. The spread or transmission of SARS-CoV-2 from human to human is the main source which is considered to be more aggressive. According to the World Health Organization, the corona virus can be spread through droplets from human saliva, it means that transmission can occur through inhalation of air containing pathogenic droplets released when talking, sneezing, and coughing. Therefore, this community service activity was carried out with the aim of providing education about the correct etiquette or procedures for coughing and sneezing as an effort to prevent the spread and transmission of the corona virus to others. This community service activity in the form of education about coughing and sneezing etiquette was conducted through the media by a banner. Especially, to the community in Kurau village, as the main target of this activity. After installing the banner, it was found that most of the people (63,64%) had good knowledge level. In other result, the lack of knowledge level is decreased from 0% to 9,09%. It can be inferred that the installation of banners is effective in increasing the level of public knowledge in preventing COVID-19.
