The Use Of Masks As A Preventive Effort In Handling The Spread Of The Covid-19 Virus In Kurau Village, Tanah Laut Regency

Abstract
The current Covid-19 pandemic is caused by the mutation process of the SARS-CoV virus to become highly infectious, patients in the incubation period and asymptomatically can spread the virus. This global pandemic can be prevented by implementing health protocols. The purpose of this service is to empower the community to comply with the health protocol, namely the use of masks. The method in this service is the distribution of masks personally accompanied by educating on the importance of using and how to use the correct masks orally using a one-by-one or interpersonal counseling approach. The targets in this community service are traders, children, and market visitors who still don't seem to be implementing health protocols, especially the use of masks. From the results of the data we got that the education carried out to local residents was successfully conveyed, this was based on an increase in the score of the respondents after the education was carried out, which can be used as a benchmark for success in this research activity. Banjarmasin with Community Empowerment Towards a Covid-19 Free Indonesia in 2021 "the distribution of masks" can be carried out smoothly.
