Appropriate Use of Antibiotics: Education in Danau Karya Village Community

Abstract

Antibiotics are chemical substances produced by microorganisms that have the ability to inhibit the growth or shut down other microorganisms. The use of appropriate and wise antibiotics will reduce the level of resistance. The increase in the incidence of resistance is due to the uncontrolled use of antibiotics. Resistant bacteria can occur due to abuse of antibiotics. This service aims to determine the level of knowledge of antibiotics and the use of antibiotics in the community in Danau Karya Village, Anjir Pasar District, Barito Kuala Regency. The service method used is to observe the public's awareness of antibiotics, counseling is a medium to educate the general public about the correct use of antibiotics, and there is a submission of antibiotic banners for Danau Karya Village. The result of community service is that many people do not know about antibiotics, and the use of antibiotics without a doctor's recommendation. After the counseling,  the community can understand about antibiotics that proved the success of the counseling. This activity is carried out to avoid antibiotic resistance which can endanger people's lives
