Abstract
Flooding is a problem that often hits Indonesia, every year when it enters the rainy season, of course, floods will always come even though various ways have been done by the government to overcome this problem. South Borneo itself, which is known as the city of a thousand rivers, got a new problem starting in 2020 when rainfall increased and resulted in several areas being flooded severely enough to cause considerable losses both material and fatal. Tatah Alayung Village is one of 16 villages located in Mandastana District, Barito Kuala Regency which was affected by the flood disaster, the majority of villagers working as farmers felt the impact of heavy losses when their crops were flooded. Houses, village facilities such as schools and mosques were also affected by the annual flood, including village roads. The village with a total population of 888 people has very poor road access, not to mention the low level of public awareness about the importance of the existence of a retaining wall on the side of the road that is directly adjacent to the river. the roads in the village of Tatah Alayung itself are directly adjacent to the river, so they are very vulnerable to erosion and landslides due to scouring currents and waves. therefore the introduction of retaining walls is a very important thing.
