Introduction and Training of Microsoft Word Applications for Students at SMP Negeri 1 Alalak

Abstract

Knowledge of the benefits and means of information and communication technology, especially computers, is useful as a provision of basic abilities to solve problems that will be faced in life. Computers have been used in all fields, one of which is Microsoft word which functions as a word processing program. In this service, the introduction and training of the Microsoft word program was carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Alalak because based on observations and a question and answer process with the teacher concerned, the understanding of students and students still needs to be improved because the subject of Information and Communication Technology has only been applied in the last year so it is still fairly new.


Based on these problems, this service applies a demonstration method, namely teaching by demonstrating the sequence of doing activities, with this method it is hoped that students can more easily understand the material to be given. The results of the activity show that students are enthusiastic to learn Microsoft word. Students can also receive the material given very well so that students' understanding of Microsoft Word has increased quite high judging from the results of the pretest and posttest.
