Abstract

Coronavirus is a large family virus transmitted via zoonoses (between animals and humans) and may cause mild to severe infections. The transmission of the virus that causes COVID-19 has not still been known. Until 26 April 2020, the cases continue to increase to 8,882 cases throughout Indonesia and spread in 34 provinces with 282 districts or cities affected and the death rate reached 8,365%. Several efforts to prevent the spread of this infection including  applying the ethics of coughing and sneezing, washing hands regularly with soap, cooking meat and eggs until perfectly cooked, and avoiding close contact with people who have the symptoms of respiratory illnesses such as coughing and sneezing. Although this infection has become pandemic, not all people, particularly school children gain sufficient information regarding the effects of the disesase. To deal with this issue, we conducted a one day workshop to school children regarding the ethics of coughing and sneezing as the preventive way for combating the pandemic. Talks and posters coloring activities regarding coughing and sneezing ethics  were conducted. It was indicated that school children of  SDN 1 Tatah Mesjid felt antusiasme during the activities and they gained much information regarding ethics of coughing and sneezing in preventing COVID-19.
