SUPPORTING COMMUNITY UNDERSTANDING OF THE GAMPA RIVER VILLAGE AGAINST COVID-19

Abstract

Sungai Gampa Village, Sungai Jingah Village, North Banjarmasin District. In general, the people of Sungai Gempa RT 22 make a living as farmers and fishermen, some as laborers, entrepreneurs, private employees, teachers, and civil servants. All of its citizens are Muslims.  During this pandemic, the importance of public awareness regarding the handling and prevention of COVID-19, there are still many people in the village of Sungai Gampa who have not complied with the health protocol recommended by the government. Because there are still many who do not use masks when interacting with other people, both adults and children, so that it can increase the risk of transmission from COVID-19. In addition, during this pandemic, many people forget about the awareness of the importance of maintaining endurance during the pandemic which is also an important point of prevention against COVID-19. Therefore, I am a student of KKN-Mandiri UMBJM 2021 in Sungai Gempa Village as part of the village development in optimizing the understanding of public awareness of the dangers of the corona virus (Covid-19) in the 2021 pandemic period using descriptive methods (in depth interviews, observation and documentation).
