The Effect of providing health education on hand washing as an effort to prevent the corona virus in pantai hambawang village

Abstract
Since the world was shocked by the emergence of the Covid-19 outbreak which began in Wuhan China in December 2019, until now this virus is still a global pandemic. One strategy is to wash hands according to health regulations based on WHO protocol. The purpose of this activity is to make residents know and understand how to wash their hands properly and be able to carry out hand washing techniques properly. This research was carried out by means of extension methods and the practice of hand washing. After that the researchers also distributed leaflets. The population of children in this village was 45 children and this activity of washing hands was followed by the children of the villagers of Pantai Hambawang. Before the delivery of the material, there were 70% of children who did not know how to wash their hands according to the WHO protocol, so that after counseling on how to wash hands according to standards and practice there was a significant increase, namely 60% of children already knew and could practice hand washing techniques according to the standard rules. correct. With the implementation of educational activities and the practice of washing hands with soap, all children are motivated to wash their hands with soap before and after activities to raise awareness as a result of learning that allows a person or family to help themselves in the health sector and play an active role in creating public health to prevent spread disease, especially during the current Covid-19 pandemic.
