Abstract

Hand sanitizer is a practical antiseptic product that is able to inhibit the activity of germs and bacteria on the hands without the use of water and soap, usually in the form of liquids or gels. Hand sanitizers are usually alcohol-based, which can dry out your hands, which can lead to dehydration of the skin, and can irritate your hands. To prevent this from happening, natural ingredients such as betel leaf and lime are used. Betel leaf and lime contain chemicals such as phenols and essential oils known as antibacterial. The purpose of this outreach activity is so that the community can produce products and empower the natural materials that are around them, and can also be used for themselves, their families, and also the surrounding community. The method used is the delivery of materials on how to make and also the practice of making hand sanitizers. The result of this counseling is the understanding of the villagers of Danau Karya about how to make hand sanitizers from natural materials and their functions.
